Continuent.org is an open source community
portal dedicated to improving the availability and performance of databases and database applications. Our mission is to provide accessible, capable technology based on the scale-out principle--spreading data horizontally across hosts and sites.
Continuent hosts
projects offering a variety of scale-out technologies. Our projects are database- and application server-agnostic. We offer solutions that work for a wide variety of applications and scale-out use cases.
Open Source Webinar
Please join us on Thursday June 26th at 10am EDT for a webinar and voice conference to discuss roadmaps for the Continuent.org projects as well as cool new Tungsten projects that will be introduced for master/slave replication and cluster management. You can sign up

Tungsten Is Coming on 08/08/08
Continuent.org is changing! In August 2008 we plan to release a new architecture for our open source technologies. It's called Tungsten.
What is Tungsten?
Tungsten is a stack of integrated technologies for building clusters and scalable data services. Tungsten provides a comprehensive set of building blocks for scale-out designs.
- Data Services integrate multiple copies of data into a single highly available, performant database
- Database Virtualization with controlled data latency and consistency routes requests automatically and simplifies application layers
- Database-Neutral Replication designed for high availability creates copies of data across servers
- Cluster-Aware Management Framework backed by excellent graphical tools ensures easy operation and handing of failures
- “Stack” Organization of technology allows substitution and extensions to build solutions for a wide range of problems
And that's just the beginning... For a presentation on Tungsten click
